About the Jr. Conservationist Program

The Jr. Conservationist Program is a do-it-yourself conservation camp hosted my Pickaway Soil and Water Conservation District, the Pickaway County Park District and RPHF Solid Waste District!

Register to participate and be eligible for a free hat or pin! Complete the required number of activities from each topic category below and take photos of yourself doing the activities/projects. Send photos to ahartzler@pickawaycountyohio.gov to be eligible for a free pin! 2020’s program year will begin May 1st and you will have until October 1st to complete your activities.

Time to get outside, explore and learn!

  • Interview a Conservationist – contact your Pickaway SWCD listed above
  • Investigate a Conservation Practice – contact your Pickaway SWCD listed above
  • Attend Canal Days, event hosted by the Pickaway County Park District
  • Attend at least one of the Friday in the Park events (SWCD and Parks will be at one of these!)
  • Attend Experience Earth Camp (3-5 grades) or EE Camp Minis (1-2 grades) if you are of the appropriate age
  • Attend the Earth Day event hosted by Parks, SWCD and Solid Waste
