Congratulations to Aurora and Savannah from Logan Elm for placing 1st place at the state level of the National Association of Conservation Districts poster contest in their respective age categories! The 2019 theme was “Life in the Soil: Dig Deeper.”
Congratulations to our Administrator, Tawn Seimer, and one of our board members, Bill Black, for being recognized for their 20 years of service to the Pickaway SWCD! They were recognized at our annual OFSWCD 2020 Partnership Meeting.

Fall 2019 School Programs

Ag Day

Ag Day was held at the Pickaway Agriculture and Event Center for 4th and 5th grade students across all the Pickaway County School Districts. Pickaway SWCD, Farm Bureau, and Teays Valley, Westfall and Logan Elm FFA Chapters partnered to host this event for students from Circleville, Logan Elm, Teays Valley, Westfall, New Hope Christian Academy and Crossroads Christian Academy. There were over 1,600 students in attendance.

The National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) hosts an annual poster contest that focuses on a different conservation topic each year. Pickaway SWCD introduces the conservation topic and poster contest to schools each spring. We love seeing our Pickaway County students' creativity!

Kieran Shaw of Walnut Wonder Workers received the title of Overall Natural Resources Winner for his completion of the project titled Ohio Birds. Kieran will be entering the 7th frade at Hamilton Middle School in the fall.
