2026 Scholarships
The Pickaway Soil and Water Conservation District is offering several $1,000 scholarships to Pickaway County High School seniors. The scholarship is for the purpose of continuing higher education at a two- or four-year college or university.
Students pursuing degrees in agriculture, environmental, and/or natural resource related fields preferred but not required.
The Donald E. Minor Memorial Scholarship was created in 2016 by Pickaway SWCD in memory of Donald E. Minor, Sr., who served as a board member for 25 years, from 1985 until he passed in 2010. The funds for the scholarship are raised from Affiliate Membership fees and also from parking fees during the Pumpkin Show.
The Rob Skidmore Memorial Scholarship was created in 2025 by Pickaway SWCD in memory of past employee, Rob Skidmore, whose friends and family donated money in his name after his passing. Rob and his family have been big supporters of Pickaway SWCD's education programs.

Qualifications:
Applications will be accepted from students meeting the following qualifications: 1. Will be attending a 2 or 4 year college or university in the Fall of 2026 2. Must be a senior at a Pickaway County high school or home school |
How to Apply:
Applications and letters of recommendation must be sent to Pickaway SWCD and postmarked by Friday, April 3, 2026. The application and information received will be property of the Pickaway SWCD and will be held in strict confidence. Conditions of the Scholarship:
The $1,000 award will be used toward students' tuition and fees and will be awarded in one payment before the start of the fall semester. Once the student receives their first semester bill in the summer/fall, it will be their responsibility to turn a copy of the bill into Pickaway SWCD. We will then submit payment directly to your school’s registrar’s office. |
